Course description
This seminar is a continuation and development of the course "introduction to film theories" – both in the chronological and in the theoretical sense. Chronologically, the course commences with theories that evolved in the early 1970's, theories that combine Althusser's Neo-Marxist theory and the psychoanalysis of Freud and Lacan. The course terminates with theories dealing with film in the digital and interactive era. Theoretically, the seminar discusses the transition from discussing questions of the ontology of cinema to epistemic questions.
