This course will examine Jewish reactions to the scientific revolution of the 17th century, in relation to medieval Jewish responses to the “external wisdoms”, with special emphasis on the natural sciences. At the center of attention will be response patterns among Jewish scholars in Italy, Germany, and England, in comparison to Christian responses at the same time period
