Course description

Each activity of everyday life requires at least a modicum of selective attention: Focusing on the stimuli at hand and ignoring task-irrelevant information. Selective attention often succeeds, but it sometimes fails. In the course, classic and modern measures of selective attention will be introduced along with the theory sustaining each school. We will attempt to identify and experimentally dissociate the conditions precipitating the failure and the success of selectivity.
