Course description: after being considered the backwaters of International Relations terrorism studies have received renewed attention following the 9/11 attacks. In this course we will examine the main theories and main debates in the terrorism literature. The course is designed to provide the students with a deeper understanding of the phenomenon and the analytical tools to critically examine the existing models for explaining the formation of counter-terrorism policy.
