Course description
This course deals with the question of how aspects of spatial behavior of people in cites - perception and cognitive spatial representation - are related to urban morphology and the properties of the urban environment. The spatial behavior of people, as individuals and social groups, will be analyzed and discuss with respect to the following domains: wayfinding, selection of movement routes, pedestrian and vehicles movement patterns, accidents risk, land use patterns, emergence of retail centers, social segregation and crime in the city.
Prerequisite: Topological analysis of geographic system
