Course description

Language,  poetry,  cognition

The students will cope with 20th century cognitive linguistic theories such as semantic frames and fields, metaphor, blends, semantic distance, restraining and augmenting mechanisms, logic and pseudo-logic in the poetry of Bialik and Tshernichovsky, Alterman, Shlonsky, Goldberg, Yeshurun, Ravikovitch, Pagis, Viseltir, Wallach, Mish'ol, Biton and more. The Students will cope with these poems and will trace the development of Hebrew poetic creative language in the 20th century.
Requierments: Active participation, final or seminar paper.
