Leo Tolstoy is considered one of the greatest writers of all time. His multifaceted writing deals with the major questions of human existence: love and family, war and history, man and nature, morality and religious faith. Dealing with these immense issues was leed Tolstoy to intense artistic search for appropriate literary forms for each philosophical discussion. During the course we'll discuss major pieces in Tolstoy's ouevre, and its connection to literary and intellectual trends in Russia and Western Europe.
