The course will deal with the finds at Megiddo and their importance for the understanding of broad issues in the archaeology and history of the Levant. Topics to be discussed include the beginning of Bronze Age urbanism, the transition from the Middle Bronze Age to the Late Bronze Age, the end of the Late Bronze Age, the late Iron I urban phenomenon and the Israelite city of the 9^th-8^th centuries BCE.
