Course description
“Introduction to Culture Research – Central Approaches and Problems” (Seminar)
This introductory seminar reviews central approaches in Culture Research and basic methodological questions of theory and empirical research related to the semiotic, social and historical conceptualization of culture. It focuses on major themes such as repertoire, fields and agents, habitus and identity, culture diffusion and change, innovation and conservatism, cross-cultural transfer, local and global cultures.
