Course description
Translation Workshop – English Prose
This workshop aims at presenting certain issues in English Hebrew translation of literary texts. Each text translated by the students represents a genre, an author, a period – and especially an interesting translation problem. Having identified the particular characteristics of each text, we will ask ourselves how to transfer them without losing much in translation. The answer will not alwys be obvious, or unequivocal.
The course exemplifies issues presented in the Introduction to Translation Studies, and is therefore only open to students who have taken it.
