Course description
A careful reading of one of the most important dialogues of Plato, the Republic, will introduce the students to the main topics addressed in this book, relating to ethics, epistemology and political philosophy. Through close attention to the arguments presented in this book, we will address issues such as justice in man and in the state, man’s psychology and sources of motivation, the definition of knowledge as well as the place of art in the ideal state.
