Course description
The course will explore these two central areas in philosophy, illustrate the differences between them and the ways they are related. It will be structured around some central philosophical issues - truth, rationality, causality, Idealism, God, the mind, determinism and free will, fatalism - which will be examined from these two perspectives - the metaphysical and the epistemological.
There will be an end of term exam.
Students are also required to take the weekly discussion section (“targil”), in which they will be required to hand in at least three essays.
There will be a separate grade for the lesson and the “targil”, each of which will contribute 50% to the final grade.
