Course description
A systematic representation and examination of the variety of technologies and crafts employed in Classical Palestine. The discussion will be based upon a combined analysis of the archaeological, historical and rabbinical sources. Among others will be discussed the themes of the olive and oil industry, vine and wine, cosmetics and textile, metals, bone and stone quarries and stone vessels industry. Lastly, we will present the technology of transportation and lifting of the Classical world.
