Psychological testing: introduction to the filed of psycho-diagnosis. We’ll describe the place of tests in the history of psychology, their goal and their social and cultural background. Principles of the theory of measurement and basic concepts in psychometrics will be presented in relation to central tools for the diagnosis of intelligence and personality. Various classifications of tests will be considered (projective, objective, skill, tendency etc.). In addition, we’ll review some of the major tests in common clinical, employment and research use and the theories they’re anchored in.
