Un-built environments cover most of the world's area, yet they get a lesser amount of architects' attention then the buildings they erect within these spaces.
At present, after two centuries of extensive urbanism and industrialization, more designers, planers and stakeholders are recognizing the crucial roles of landscapes beyond their esthetic value.
The focus of this course is urban and rural landscapes as an enabling infrastructure. This approach relates to the built and un-built environment as an integral entity in which interactions and coexistence are taking place. We will emphasize that only comprehensive integrated design of built and un-built environments can advance the creation of sustainable environment.
