The studio seeks to provide the students with practical knowledge in digital design. That is while considering design and planning as integrative and multilayered processes. To that end, the studio will focus on a specific question. The various exercises will address the question. Additionally, the studio will provide the students with means to deal with digital tools, that is, through weekly tutorials.
In 2015-2016, the studio will focus on the brutalist architecture of Ram Karmi. After learning Karmi's principles of brutalist architecture, the students will be required to update his thoughts and apply those using digital tools.
In the studio, the students are required to construct a 1:1 installation while focusing on design and fabrication processes.
