Course description

This survey course examines the theory and practice of modern architecture and urbanism during the twentieth century. It explores the modern movement in Europe and the US and its global diffusion during the postwar period. The course explores the assimilation of technology into architectural culture and its dialogue with history. It examines in detail the work of individual architects, as well as the anonymous, bureaucratic production of everyday environments.
