The unimaginable horrors of the Holocaust pose a special challenge to artistic representations.  The seminar will analyze canonical films and the works of leading filmmakers in Holocaust cinema to examine the poetic approaches to the representation of the unimaginable and the place of the Holocaust in popular culture in terms of the politics of collective memory.
