Course description
This lecture will deal with the birth and the evolution of modern cinema in Israel since the second half of the sixsties up to the mid-seventies.
It will examine the themes and styles which caracterises this current, the influence of European modern cinema on it (especially the french New Wave) and the way Israeli
authors adapted this cinematographic sources to the local context.
The lecture will treat also the ideological aspects of this cinema, it's attitude towards the social and political problems of the period - mainly the question of the Israeli cultrual
identity.
