The Palestinian Cinema

The course will deal with the history of the Palestinian Cinema according to four periods. In each one we will deal with the political circumstances, the cinema makers and the their films from cinematic point of view as well as from political and national context. The four periods are: The first period: The beginning, 1935–48.The second period: The epoch of silence, 1948–67. The third period: Cinema in exile, 1968–82. The fourth period: The return home, from 1980 to the present.
