This workshop will focus on the limits of the photograph beyond the surface it depicts. We will examine the photograph as an object that carries human traces of modern culture (objects, fashion, food), and as an autonomous object.  By looking at images and experimenting with them, we will consider the different ways in which photographs reference external realities as well as ideas, wishes, memories, and identities.  In the workshop we will therefore discuss the essence of photography as a medium, object and act.
