The National Gallery in London is one of the leading collections for renaissance art in the world. From the early days of the institution to the 21th century the collection and preservation of Italian old masters had an important role in the construction of the Gallery and its image. Dr. Matthias Wivel, Curator of Sixteenth-Century Italian Paintings at the National Gallery of London will discuss with us the history and the current challenges facing a Renaissance collection in a major museum.
