This seminar aims to provide graduate students with theoretical and critical skills for the research and writing of theses in art history. It focuses on the different historical methodological approaches in the discipline (formalism, iconography, and iconology), and on current ones (semiotics, Marxism, feminism, poststructuralism, postcolonialism, and Queer).
