The project is based on experiential learning; theatre students and elderly counterparts will collaborate and research their joint experiences. Meeting with "others" generates narratives from which the "actors" devise dramatic texts for performance and dialogue with the community audience.
Part one will emphasize the inter-subjective process. The participants will create dramatic materials from personal and inter-personal exercises. The course will emphasize various techniques and methods including: drama games, Improvisation, Group processes using play, Drama Therapy and Augusto Boal's Theatre of the Oppressed.
Part two will emphasize the intergroup process, the participants will create dramatic narratives using improvisation and forum technique, writing scenes and taking responsibility for directing, producing and presenting a theatrical event.
