Course description
The course offers keys for theatrical creation through the practical reading of canonical plays for the purpose of staging them, with an emphasis on translating written drama into stage images. We shall deal with three known plays, from ancient times to the present, focusing on research of potential images reflected in the playwright’s dramatic choices. While doing so, we shall discuss dramatic models, construction of dramatic space and time, theatrical conventions, and so forth.
