This course focuses on one prominent question: What meta-narratives of identity have designed and have been constituted by the Israeli theatre from its inception, and how are they put to the test by evolving Israeli politics if identity? These questions will be examined through critical reading of canonic Israeli plays and analysis of various performance practices.
