Poetics. We analyze the dramatic techniques of playwriting; follow the development of the architecture of the Ancient Greek theatre, the condition of theatre productions as well as their poetic and aesthetic conventions. In the part we focus on the emergence of the Roman theatre through its dialogue with the Greek Classical example. We read and analyze comedies by Plautus and Terence and tragedies by Seneca and define the changes that took place in the architecture of the theatre during the Roman Republic and the Roman Empire.
