Course description
The Course's aim is to achieve good, clear and expressive voice in speech and singing, through heightening the awareness to all the components of the word, sentence and monologue, using the body, intelligence, imagination and all the senses.  Feeling the voice within the body, tasting the consonants and vowels with the lips, tongue and palate and seeing their shapes, thus making the word the thing itself.
The word and speaker become one when the vitality and imagination are led, wholly to the word. Without it the word is meaningless. First we research the physical connection, for a good voice and speech is the first sign of good mind-body health and integration.  Then we analyze the rhythmical – musical experience and how it is related to the language and the making of the speaking an art. What is the music of Martin Luther King's "I have a dream"? What is the music of the closing monologue in Chekove's "Three sisters"? What is the text of the first four notes of Beethoven's fifth symphony? What is the music of the pointelistic paintings? How do the musical terms like legato, staccato, crescendo, accelerando etc. become relevant in speaking and acting? What is the exact length of a pause? What is timing? How do we move from speaking to singing without crossing boarders or changing planets?
Every lesson a few students will have to perform for the class.
