Throughout the years, art has been an effective vehicle to inspire and promote social and political change. The various lectures delivered in the seminar will present local and international artists, or art movements, whose artistic activities were created to protest an existing condition and to inspire the public towards social and/or political change.
The lectures will introduce a large array of artistic mediums including graffiti and street art, posters and manifests, urban performance, documentary film, protest songs, political theatre, anti-institutional exhibitions.
