Course description

The course will focus on Israeli meta-poetic stories that represent personal and national themes in connection with literary writing. We shall start by discussing two stories by S.Y. Agnon, “Ido and Enam” and “Forevermore”; then we shall discuss stories by A.B. Yehoshua and Amalia Kahana-Carmon, written in the 60s. Finally, we shall proceed to post-modernist prose written by David Grossman, Orly Castel-Bloom Etgar Keret and others.
