השיעור יעסוק בסיפורים ישראלים הבוחנים את שאלת הכתיבה הספרותית, בהקשרים לאומיים ואישיים, בפרספקטיבות מודרניסטיות ופוסט מודרניסטיות. נפתח בשני סיפורים של ש"י עגנון שנכתבו לאחר הקמת המדינה, "עידו ועינם" ו"עד עולם", ומשם נעבור לסיפורים של א"ב יהושע ועמליה כהנא-כרמון בשנות השישים וליצירות דוד גרוסמן, אורלי קסטל בלום, אתגר קרת ואחרים בעשורים שלאחר מכן.
Course description
The course will focus on Israeli meta-poetic stories that represent personal and national themes in connection with literary writing. We shall start by discussing two stories by S.Y. Agnon, “Ido and Enam” and “Forevermore”; then we shall discuss stories by A.B. Yehoshua and Amalia Kahana-Carmon, written in the 60s. Finally, we shall proceed to post-modernist prose written by David Grossman, Orly Castel-Bloom Etgar Keret and others.
