Topics:

Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) are dependent on communication systems

between computers and various production means, such as Robots, CNC machines,

etc. The course will discuss the understanding and analysis of current communication

systems by the hardware aspects and software aspects. The course will provide the

student with the ability to design the communication system at the work-floor and to

choose among alternatives relevant to this issue. The subjects will include:

Introduction to communication, Bus types, Communication systems, Protocols at

different layers, Data collection and Performance Evaluating, Data protection and

Encryption.
