Conduction: Fourier’s law. One-dimensional problems in steady state. Heat exchangers. The general Heat Transfer equation and techniques for solution. Fins. Multi-deimensional problems in conduction. Unsteady state problems.
Convection: The governing equations. Dimensional analysis. Similarity analysis. Flow in channels. Flow over external surfaces. Free convection.
Radiation: basic laws of radiation. View factors. Heat transfer between black and grey surfaces.
