Course description

The course's objective is to review and discuss the fundamentals of cognitive research in geography that include the following issues: cognitive mapping, spatial cognitive representation of geographical environment, structure of spatial knowledge and frame of reference, the acquisition of spatial knowledge, direction and distance estimations; systematic distortions in cognitive maps; cognitive distance; selecting of movement paths in road networks.
