תחביר בן זמננו הקורס יעסוק בהתפתחויות שחלו בתיאוריה התחבירית מאז תיאורית ה- GB של שנות ה- 80' המוקדמות. הנושאים שנדון בהם בפירוט יכללו: מבנה המשפט, קטגוריות פונקציונליות, secondary predication,, licensing of PRO, הD(eterminer)Phrase ומבנה נומליזציות, VP-shells, Reflexivity לעומת כבילה. הקורס מספק בסיס למחקר בתיאורית התחביר העכשווית ולמסגרת התכנית המינימליסטית.
דרישות הקורס: נוכחות סדירה והשתתפות פעילה, מטלות בית ובחינת בית סופית.

CURRENT SYNTAX
The course will present the major developments that have taken place within
syntactic theory since the GB theory of the early 1980s.
The topics to be discussed in detail will include clause structure, functional
categories, secondary predication, the licensing of PRO, D(eterminer)Phrase
and the structure of nominals, VP-shells, Reflexivity vs. binding of anaphors and pronominals. The course lays the foundation for doing research in current syntactic theory, and for the minimalist program framework.
Course requirements: Regular attendance and class participation, occasional
homework assignments and a final take-home exam.
