תאור הקורס

נתיבי עולי הרגל לרומא, לירושלים, ולסנטיאגו דה- קומפוסטלה חצו את אירופה של ימה"ב ועד היום. על דרכים אלו הוקמו כנסיות, בתי הארחה, מסבאות, ועוד; באלו נמכרו תגי עולי רגל, פסלונים, ומזכרות אחרות לקהל המשולהב. מה חלקה של האמנות בפולחן זה? מה מטרתו של המסע וכיצד כיוונה האמנות את עולה הרגל להגשמתו? כיצד הטרימה האמנות את ניסיונו של עולה הרגל בימה"ב? כיצד נחוותה האמנות באתרים אלו? מהו ניהול הגוף הטקסי של עולי הרגל אל מול יצירות האמנות? השיעור יתמקד באמנות וטקס באתרי עלייה לרגל בין המאות ה-12 וה-13, באובייקטים של פולחן (מזבחות, רליקויות, צלמים), ויבחן את תפקודם בתוך התרבות של ימה"ב.

 

Pilgrimage routes to Rome, Jerusalem and Santiago de Compostela have crossed Europe from medieval to present times. On these routes numerous churches and hospices were erected, in which pilgrim badges, souvenirs and other objects were acquired by the devoted visitors. What role did art play in this cult? What was the purpose of the journey and how did medieval art guide the pilgrims to its fulfillment? How did the works of art prime the expectations and experiences of the pilgrims? How was art received? The course will focus on art and ceremony at pilgrimage sites between the 12^th-13^th century, as well as on cult objects and their function within the cultural practice of pilgrimage.

מבוא לאמנות ימי-הביניים, רומנסק וגותיקה (אמנות בתום האלף).

 

דרישות הקורס:

נוכחות במפגשים, השתתפות פעילה בדיונים, קריאת ספרות המחקר, הגשת סמינר או רפרט. מי שייעדר יותר משלושה מפגשים לא יעמוד בדרישות הקורס ולא יוכל להגיש את העבודה (ציון 240).

 

קריאת חובה: תצוין במהלך הקורס, מתוך המאמרים והספרים שלמטה, ואלו שיידרשו ממפגש למפגש.
