נראה כי בשנים האחרונות זוכה משנתו של קונפוציוס לעדנה מחודשת בסין ומחוץ לה. בחלקו הראשון של הקורס נלמד על התפתחות המסורת הקונפוציאנית בראייה היסטורית ופילוסופית - נבחן את הערכים ורעיונות הליבה בהגות המוקדמת, לצד התפתחותם בתוך המסורת הפרשנית לאורך הדורות. בחלק השני נתמקד במחקר עכשווי העוסק בשאלות על אודות האפשרות ליישום משנתו המוסרית, הפוליטית והחברתית של קונפוציוס בהקשרים עכשוויים.
נוכחות חובה. בסיום הקורס תתקיים בחינת בית
The course will examine the development of core ideas and values in the Confucian tradition from historical and philosophical perspectives. The first part of the course will introduce the philosophical, moral and interpretative aspects of classical Confucianism and later Confucian thinkers. In the second part we will focus on contemporary studies which deal with the questions of how one should apply and practice the ancient wisdom of Confucius in our world today, here and now.
