The social, cultural, and political origins of the Trump presidency. Topics might include the New Deal, the civil rights movement, the rise of evangelical conservatism/the abortion debate/white supremacy, the right turn in US political cultures, racial tensions, the failures of mainstream political parties, and urban decline -- each connected to Trump's personal and political trajectories.
