Course description

 Reciprocal Influence of Judaism and Islam in Laws of Marriage, Divorce and Inheritance

   In this course, the laws of marriage, divorce and inheritance in Judaism will be taught, and compared to the same laws in Islam.

The aim is to understand the points of similarity and the influence of Judaism on Islam and vice versa. The sources we will use throughout the course will be the holy writings of Judaism and Islam as well as documents from the Cairo archives. The course is open to all students who request to study it.

There is no need to know Arabic or to possess a background in Talmudic studies
