Course description

What is the splendor of poetry, what is to be called properly - its light? How should this be enlightened (brought into light, interpreted)? The seminar (being planned as a workshop in the program of creative writing) discusses the concepts of light in poetry and their affinities with the order of revelation. The discussions are based on close readings in short poetic sentences holding the secret of light from the ancient traditions towards the present, from the biblical poems, the Eastern poetry, the book of Bahir, the Zohar, the poetry of Jews and Muslims, modern European poetry and the late Hebrew poetry. The seminar is based on a concept of close, slow reading, to be named – poetical thinking.
