Course description

The course focuses on contemporary Latin-American fiction (end of 20th century and 21st century), and particularly on the changes that took place after the acclaimed literary “Boom” of the 1960’s. Significant works by authors such as Roberto Bolaño, Manuel Puig, Guillermo Rosales, Sergio Bizzio and Alejandro Zambra will be discussed throughout the course. Special emphasis will be put on these works as both independent aesthetic units and innovative manifestations of the current Latin-American literature.

Course requirements: intense reading. Attendance: obligatory.
