This course takes a critical view of corporate ideology mostly among large international corporations. Throughout the semester we shall examine the way corporate ideology is shaping stakeholders, i.e. employees, customers, shareholders and public opinion.
Particularly, we will take a close look at various case studies depicting large corporations and how they wield power and to what effect through a carefully structured language and a host of techniques to frame and influence consciousness and behavior.
At a broader level we shall examine the ideologies of growth and productivity and how they influence management theory and practice.
No prior knowledge is required. We will deal with highly relevant questions for today's modern society.
