Course description

The 21st century significantly changed the world of management. For example, technological developments left experienced managers struggling to keep up with the pace of change. Thus experience sometimes turned out to be a hindrance to creativity and innovation. Economic conditions in the employment market brought about employees who seek new experiences and challenges rather than stability, and  wander between firms out of curiosity and interest. The broadening spectrum of gender relations changes the corporate environment and challenges managers as to the forming of new corporate culture.

The course "Management Today – Concepts and Challenges" seeks to map the transformation and changes the world of management is going through in the opening of a radically dynamic century. We shall introduce conceptual tools to comprehend the ideas underlying these changes and which will enable to harness the challenges they summon to the best interest of broader groups of stakeholder of businesses and firms.
