This class is devoted to a close reading of two fundamental works in ancient philosophy: the Phaedo of Plato and On the Soul of Aristotle. The class aims at teaching the students how to read and interpret ancient philosophical texts. We will explore the main arguments presented in these works and study the basic concepts. Furthermore, this class is intended to acquaint students with the basic skills of academic writing and to teach them how to approach and use secondary literature
