Course description

During the 2nd temple period a variety of works have been written that did not find their way into the Hebrew Bible or later Jewish tradition. These writings sometimes tell directly stories about women (as Susanna or Judith), at other times they allow to understand the authors evaluation of women like some writings from Qumran or from Philo of Alexandria. We will look through these passages and check them in front of (mostly) feminist research.
