Course description
The course begins with basic astrophysical concepts and an account of
the collapse of gas clouds and star formation. The structure and
evolution of stars are described in detail, including evolution on
the Main Sequence and later stages. Properties of degenerate gas and
its equation of state at high densities are expanded upon as a prelude
for a decription and evolution of White Dwarfs, physical processes in
a supernova, the structure of Neutron Stars, and basic properties of
stellar Black Holes.
