Labor and Employment Law
Work is a central feature of life, and the regulation of work reflects – and sometimes creates – a complex web of professional, economic, and social relationships in a liberal democracy. This course will deal with central issues in Israeli labour and employment law. These are governed in Israel by a unique and complex set of laws, founded mostly on contract law and constitutional law, but relate to other areas of law such as administrative law and tort law. We will discuss topics such as the employer-employee relationship in the context of both labour and employment law, new forms of work and their regulation, labour and employment rights, and anti-discrimination in the workplace.
