Course description

This seminar focuses on manifestations of the marvelous in Jewish narratives in their various cultural contexts. We shell ask whether miracles are described in the Bible or not? Did the Sageshad a distinction of "magic" and "miracles"? and what distinct the "Jewish marvelous" from Christian one? We shall give special attention to the question of the marvelous' function in the narrating societies.
