This class focuses on Patañjali's Yogasūtra. We will read this intriguing canonic text from A to Z with constant reference to its classical (Vyāsa), Modern (Sri Aurobindo) and even Contemporary (Krishnachandra Bhattacharyya) commentators. We will discuss philosophical and psychological "threads" of classical yoga, and reflect on the notion of freedom as it is formulated here, vis-à-vis similar and different concepts of freedom in Indian and Western philosophies.
