Course description

Dr. David Mark Kovacs

Metaphysics is often characterized as the study of reality at the most basic level of description possible, whereas epistemology as the study of what we can know. In this seminar, we will survey some questions at the intersection of these two areas: what can we know about the structure of reality? Our readings will center on contemporary works in a few select topics. Possible themes to be covered include modal epistemology, knowledge of abstract objects, evolutionary debunking arguments against metaphysical knowledge, and the demarcation of metaphysics from the empirical sciences
